To provide Occupational Therapy services to participants, consultation, and any other required duties related to the provision of OT services or other Individual Program Plan components for which responsible, functioning as an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team member and assuring compliance with all applicable program standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct OT treatment services to participants on assigned caseload.
- Coordinate participant's OT schedule and plan with DTP staff and residential staff/family.
- Participate in initial, bi-annual, and annual case reviews of
participants with sensory motor needs.
- Write non-goal related progress notes as needed.
- Provide advice, suggestions, and training, to other program staff regarding participant's sensory motor needs.
- Assist OTR in determining/requesting needed OT equipment and supplies.
- Organize, maintain, and keep an inventory of OT equipment and supplies.
- Participate in staff meetings and staff education and training.
- Prepare for and participate in weekly clinical supervision meetings.
- Assure that the physician's orders are current.
- Keep a record of all treatments and other services provided.
- Provide staff training as requested.
- Supervise activities of the COTS
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy; eligible for certification as an OTR or Licensed and currently certified as an OTR by the New York State Dept. of Education.
- Reliable transportation (NYS Drivers License required)
- Experience in working with the developmentally disabled preferred.
- Ability to work independently and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain all required certifications/training by State regulations and CDS policy
