Continuing Developmental Services is grateful for gifts from friends who donate through United Way's donor designation option. CDS is a "designation only" agency, meaning that the only United Way funding CDS receives is through the donor designation process. (Note: United Way allows donors to direct their gifts to agencies providing direct services to individuals, such as CDS, and does not permit designations to support organizations such as the CDS Foundation.)
In 2006, 180 friends donated a total of $28,000 to CDS through United Way. These gifts were used to provide creative arts and music opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities in our Day Services Program. United Way contributions given in 2007 will help make possible a new "Life Transitions" facility in Webster for individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages, to be opened in March of 2008.
It is easy to ensure that dreams continue to come true at CDS:
1. Request a donor designation form from your employer or United Way.
2. Designate agency number 0427 (CDS) and indicate the amount that you would like to give.
3. Return your pledge card and donor designation form to United Way or your employer.
