Why We Give

Guy and Joyce LaChiusa’s daughter, Suzanne, has participated in CDS’ Webster Creative Opportunities Program for more than 20 years. With gratitude for the care she receives, the LaChiusas make a yearly gift to CDS as their way of giving back. They wish to share their reason for giving as encouragement for other families to consider making a gift to the upcoming Fall appeal from the CDS Foundation.

Fundraising Events

Throughout the year, CDS and the CDS Foundation will host or be named the beneficiary of fundraising events in the community. Through these events, we raise funds to enhance CDS services, and inevitably we also raise new friends for CDS.

This year's Golf Tournament netted more than $54,000 which will be used toward equipment for the soon-to-be-built CDS Life Transitions Center. Also, our Art Gala last fall netted nearly $25,000 and enabled CDS to provide enhanced creative arts services to individuals in our Day Services program. Proceeds from 2007 events will be used toward new Unistel and Day Services opportunities provided by the soon-to-be-built Life Transitions Center in Webster.
